Introduction:

This section expands briefly on what our objectives look like in terms of projects, programmes, support services and activities across different communities within New Zealand.

It serves as an updated online reference that reinforces our recent constitution changes that reflect our commitment to broader social outcomes reinforcing our Prana model of wellbeing and holistic approaches.

New Zealand Pranic Healing Foundation Incorporated has joined several advisory boards and service provider networks to maintain a wider lens of social issues pertaining to physical, mental, emotional, relational and spiritual challenges many communities face. This includes:

– Elders Abuse Forum – Advisory Sector-led Group under Te Puna Aonui

– Ethnic Communities Network – Family Harm Prevention National-based and Ministerial led.

– Police Ethnic Providers Network – Auckland-based

We are committed to upholding the standards of health directory boards, health and disability commissioning rights, human rights and the geneva conventions accords and in terms of practice, Social Service Standards when engaging those with high and complex needs, such as Victim Survivors, Children, Youth and Adults living with disability, special needs and/or mental health conditions etc.

Social Impact

Pavitra strengthens the well-being, safety, and resilience of multi-ethnic families and communities across Aotearoa. We work alongside people from all cultural backgrounds who are experiencing stress, isolation, violence, relationship challenges, or settlement barriers.

Our approach is culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, and grounded in dignity. We support individuals and families to navigate complex systems, build stability, strengthen relationships, and create safer homes. Pavitra’s impact is seen in reduced harm, increased confidence, improved family functioning, and stronger community connections.

Our Objectives

1. Promote Safety and Wellbeing

Provide accessible, culturally-informed support to individuals and families experiencing conflict, harm, or crisis.

2. Strengthen Family Functioning

Improve communication, parenting capacity, and whānau stability through early intervention and tailored support.

3. Reduce Isolation & Barriers

Support migrants, newcomers, long-term residents, and ethnic communities to overcome language, cultural, and system-navigation challenges.

4. Enhance Financial Stability

Build financial capability and practical budgeting skills to reduce hardship and prevent long-term financial stress.

5. Empower Community Leadership

Develop peer leaders, volunteers, and cultural connectors from diverse communities to strengthen social cohesion and safety.

Family & Parenting Support

  • Workshops for dads/men and mums/women focused on respectful, non-violent homes

Financial Capability & Budgeting

  • One-to-one mentoring and household budgeting plans
  • Debt management support
  • Assistance accessing entitlements, employment pathways, and hardship support

Community Programmes & Education

  • Wellbeing, settlement, and resilience workshops
